Logged into your Biotechgate account, navigate to the “companies” section in the business development menu. From there, you can adjust a variety of filters to identify companies founded under specific circumstances. In this example, we will look at Biotechnology – Therapeutics and Diagnostics companies that were recently founded as academic spin-offs.
First, we will choose “Biotechnology – Therapeutics and Diagnostics” as the company sector.
Scrolling down, you will find the extendable “Business model, customer segments & employees” section, which allows you to filter for a specific foundation source. In our case, we want to search for spin-offs from universities and will select this from the “Source of foundation” drop-down menu. As our goal is to find companies that were founded within the last three years, we will turn on the “Year founded” option and adjust the slider to show companies founded between 2021 and 2023.
Now that the filters are set, click the “search” button to see the results. If you additionally want to find out the name of the university a specific company spun off from or see more information, simply click on the individual profiles.
