The Danish life science industry continued its upward trend in 2021, reflecting the ongoing high priority of this industry for Denmark. While the number of biotech private equity financing rounds of 17 is as high as the previous year, a record amount of venture capital was raised in 2021, partly thanks to an exceptionally large financing round of USD 535m invested by Nordic Capital in LEO Pharma A/S in March 2021.
