The number of financing rounds scored by UK private biotech companies in 2019 was the lowest since 2016. However, it still stays at a decent level and there is no sign of the British life science industry losing its position as the largest in Europe. Biotechgate lists more than 4,000 British companies that altogether have nearly 3,000 products in their pipelines, including over 600 biotech therapeutics and diagnostics.
