The life sciences industry remains very strong in the Netherlands. It currently consist of about 1000 companies, half of which belong to the biotechnology sector. The majority of products in companies’ pipelines are in the area of oncology, followed by the products indicated for infectious diseases. In 2017, there were 12 major financing rounds in biotech therapeutics and diagnostic sector for the total value of over 63 million USD.
